Ingredients:
- Cake flour - 1 ½ cup,sifted
- Baking powder - 1 ½ Teaspoon
- Unsalted butter - ½ cup
- Vanilla extract - ½ Teaspoon
- Milk - ½ cup
- Eggs - 2 Nos
- Sugar - 1 cup
- Salt - ¼ Teaspoon
- Sliced strawberries for the layers - ¾ cup
- Whole cherries or strawberries to garnish
- White chocolate shavings to garnish
For Syrup:
- Confectioner's Sugar - 2 Tablespoon
- Hot water - 3 Tablespoon
- Vanilla extract - ¼ Teaspoon
For Frosting:
- Whipping cream - 400 ml
- Confectioner's Sugar - 2 Tablespoon
- Vanilla extract - 1 Teaspoon
Instructions:
Cake Preparation:
- Preheat the oven to 375°F. Arrange two 8-inch cake pan with parchment paper.
- In a large mixing bowl, combine together the cake flour, baking powder, and salt.
- Add in the butter as 3 to 4 batches(1-2 teaspoons at a time). Beat until the mixture resembles coarse sand, using an electric mixer set on low speed.
- Add in the sugar as batches(1-2 tablespoon at a time). Beat until the mixture resembles fine damp sand.
- Add eggs one at a time, beat well after each addition. Add in the vanilla, milk and beat just until blended. Do not over-beat.
- Divide the batter among the prepared pans and bake until a wooden skewer inserted in the center comes out clean for about 25 to 35 minutes.
- Remove the pan from oven and cool for 5 minutes. Remove the cake from pan and remove the parchment paper. Cool completely on a wire rack.
Frosting Preparation:
- In a bowl, whip the cream with confectioner's sugar and vanilla using an electric mixer set on medium-high speed. Keep it aside.
Sugar Syrup Preparation:
- In a bowl, mix together the hot water, sugar and vanilla until the sugar is dissolved. Set aside.
Decorating Cake:
- Once the cake is cooled, level the cakes. If you need, remove the sides(brown parts) too.
- Spread a scoop of whipped cream in the cake base. Place the first cake on your cake base(the leveled side up position).
- Then drizzle or brush syrup generously on the top. Layer the whipped cream followed by a layer of sliced strawberries.
- Cover the strawberries with some more whipped cream. Then place the second cake(the leveled side down position) .
- Then drizzle or brush syrup generously on the top.
- Then coat the entire cake with whipped cream. Keep it in freezer for 5 minutes.
- Then decorate the cake with white chocolate shavings and cherries or strawberries.
- Chill the cake for 10 minutes and enjoy the yummy white forest cake.
Notes:
- If you don't have cake flour,
- Take 1 ½ cup all-purpose flour, then remove 1 ½ tablespoon of flour from it and substitute with 1 ½ tablespoon of cornflour.
- Sift and continue with the recipe.
- If you don't have chocolate shavings,

Yes, you can use ¾ cup of canola oil for every cup of butter.
