Ingredients:
- Tomatoes, large sized - 3 Nos
- Garlic - 4-5 cloves, finely chopped
- Chopped fresh basil leaves - 1 - 1 ½ Tablespoon
- Dry oregano or ajwain or carom seeds - 1 - 1 ½ Teaspoon or Chopped fresh oregano - 1 - 1 ½ Tablespoon
- Ground Cinnamon - ⅛ Teaspoon
- Black pepper powder - ½ Teaspoon, adjust
- Olive oil - 2 Tablespoon
- Granulated sugar - ½ Teaspoon
- Salt as required
Instructions:
- Wash and cut the tomatoes into small pieces. Then puree the chopped tomatoes in a blender and set aside. We need approx: 2 cups of tomato puree for this recipe.
- Heat olive oil in a pan, add in the chopped garlic and saute for 15-20 seconds on low heat.
- Add in the tomato puree and stir for about 4-5 minutes or until the tomato puree is fully cooked and the sauce is sightly thick on a low-medium heat.
- Then add in the basil, oregano, ground cinnamon, pepper powder, sugar and salt. Mix well and stir for 1-2 minutes on a low heat.
- Adjust salt and pepper, remove from heat and let it cool.
- Use as needed once cooled.
Yield: Makes approx: 1 cup of sauce.
