Ingredients:
- Chicken – 500 Gms, cut into medium pieces
- Onion, medium sized – 2 Nos, finely sliced
- Finely Chopped Ginger - 1 ½ - 2 Tablespoon
- Finely Chopped Garlic – 1 ½ - 2 Tablespoon
- Small Tomato - 1 Nos, chopped
- Green chilli – 1-2 Nos, sliced
- Crushed Whole Black pepper – 1 Tablespoon
- Garam masala – ½ Tablespoon
- Fennel powder – ½ Teaspoon
- Turmeric powder – ½ Teaspoon
- Soy sauce – 1 Teaspoon
- Tomato sauce – 1 Teaspoon
- Curry leaves - 1 sprig
- Coconut oil - 2 Tablespoon
- Water - 1 cup
- Salt to taste
For Marination:
- Pepper powder – ½ Teaspoon
- Lemon juice – 1 Tablespoon
- Salt - ½ Teaspoon
Instructions:
- Clean and wash the chicken pieces. Drain the water completely.
- Marinate the chicken pieces with the ingredients mentioned in 'For Marination' and set aside for 30-45 minutes.
- Heat oil in a pan and add sliced onion, saute till the onions becomes soft.
- Add chopped ginger, garlic, sliced green chilli and curry leaves, saute till the raw smell disappears.
- Then add in the chopped tomato and fry till the tomatoes are nicely mashed.
- Add crushed pepper, turmeric powder, fennel powder and garam masala. Mix well and saute for 1-2 minutes on low heat.
- Then add in the soy sauce, tomato sauce, ½ cup of water, salt and mix well.
- Then add in the marinated chicken pieces, mix well and make sure that chicken pieces are well coated with the masala.
- When it starts boiling, add in the remaining water and mix well. Cover and cook until chicken is tender and the gravy is thick on low heat. Stir occasionally.
- Remove from heat, serve warm.
