Ingredients:
- Mutton - 500 Gms, cut into small-medium pieces
- Onion, big sized - 2 Nos, thinly sliced
- Tomato, medium sized - 2 Nos, sliced
- Garlic - 12 Nos, chopped
- Ginger - 1 inch piece, chopped
- Green chilies - 2 Nos, sliced
- Thinly sliced coconut pieces - ¼ cup
- Red chili powder - ¾ Tablespoon
- Turmeric Powder - ¼ Tablespoon
- Coriander powder - 2 ½ Tablespoon
- Pepper powder - 1- 2 pinch
- Garam masala - ½ Tablespoon
- Curry leaves - 2 sprig
- Chopped coriander leaves - 2 Tablespoon
- Water - 1 ¼ cup
- Coconut oil - 3 Tablespoon
- Salt to taste
Instructions:
- Wash the mutton pieces thoroughly, drain the water completely and set aside.
- Heat coconut oil in a pressure cooker, add in the coconut slices and saute until slightly brown.
- Add in the sliced onions and saute until translucent.
- Add in the chopped ginger, garlic, green chilies, curry leaves and saute until the raw smell disappears.
- Add chopped tomatoes and saute for 3-4 minutes or till the tomatoes are mashed well.
- Then add in the turmeric powder, coriander powder, red chilly powder, pepper powder, garam masala and saute for 2-3 minutes, or until the raw smell goes.
- Now add in the mutton pieces and combine well. Then add water, salt and mix well.
- Close the pressure cooker and cook until 3 whistles. After 3 whistles, put it on low flame for about 15 to 20 minutes or till the mutton is nicely cooked. Remove from heat.
- Once the pressure is settled down, open the cooker. If the gravy is not thick, place the opened cooker on a medium flame till the gravy is thick.
- Garnish with chopped coriander leaves and serve warm.

Nice recipe. I was looking for a Kerala Mutton recipe, and speaking as an ex chef, this looks pretty legit.in terms of technique and ingredients compared to most other websites. Good job.
