Nadan Mutton Curry
Ingredients:
  • Mutton - 500 Gms, cut into small-medium pieces
  • Onion, big sized - 2 Nos, thinly sliced
  • Tomato, medium sized - 2 Nos, sliced
  • Garlic - 12 Nos, chopped
  • Ginger - 1 inch piece, chopped
  • Green chilies - 2 Nos, sliced
  • Thinly sliced coconut pieces - ¼ cup
  • Red chili powder - ¾ Tablespoon
  • Turmeric Powder - ¼ Tablespoon
  • Coriander powder - 2 ½ Tablespoon
  • Pepper powder - 1- 2 pinch
  • Garam masala - ½ Tablespoon
  • Curry leaves - 2 sprig
  • Chopped coriander leaves - 2 Tablespoon
  • Water - 1 ¼ cup
  • Coconut oil - 3 Tablespoon
  • Salt to taste
Instructions:
  1. Wash the mutton pieces thoroughly, drain the water completely and set aside.
  2. Heat coconut oil in a pressure cooker, add in the coconut slices and saute until slightly brown.
  3. Add in the sliced onions and saute until translucent.
  4. Add in the chopped ginger, garlic, green chilies, curry leaves and saute until the raw smell disappears.
  5. Add chopped tomatoes and saute for 3-4 minutes or till the tomatoes are mashed well.
  6. Then add in the turmeric powder, coriander powder, red chilly powder, pepper powder, garam masala and saute for 2-3 minutes, or until the raw smell goes.
  7. Now add in the mutton pieces and combine well. Then add water, salt and mix well.
  8. Close the pressure cooker and cook until 3 whistles. After 3 whistles, put it on low flame for about 15 to 20 minutes or till the mutton is nicely cooked. Remove from heat.
  9. Once the pressure is settled down, open the cooker. If the gravy is not thick, place the opened cooker on a medium flame till the gravy is thick.
  10. Garnish with chopped coriander leaves and serve warm.

Nice recipe. I was looking for a Kerala Mutton recipe, and speaking as an ex chef, this looks pretty legit.in terms of technique and ingredients compared to most other websites. Good job.
