Ingredients:
- Mutton - 250 Gms, cut into small pieces
- Onion, small sized - 2 Nos, chopped
- Potato, medium sized - 1 Nos, cut into medium cubes
- Green chilly - 2-3 Nos, chopped ( adjust according to the spice level)
- Garlic paste - 1 Teaspoon
- Ginger paste - ½ Teaspoon
- Thin Coconut milk - 1 cup
- Thick Coconut milk - ½ cup
- Corn flour - ½ Teaspoon
- Garam masala - ½ Teaspoon
- Curry leaves - 1 sprig
- Chopped Coriander leaves - 1 Tablespoon
- Coconut oil as required
- Salt to taste
For Marination:
- Vinegar - 1 Teaspoon
- Pepper powder, white powder preferred - 1 ½ Tablespoon
- Salt - ½ Teaspoon
Instructions:
- Clean and wash the mutton pieces thoroughly. Drain the water completely and set aside.
- In a bowl, mix together mutton pieces and the items mentioned under 'For Marination'. Set aside for 10 minutes.
- Heat coconut oil in a pan, add in the chopped onions, saute until the onions become light brown in color.
- Add in the ginger paste, garlic paste,chopped green chilli and saute until the raw smell disappears.
- Add in the marinated mutton and combine well.
- Add in the corn flour, garam masala, cubed potatoes and mix well.
- Then add in the thin coconut milk and mix well. Cover and cook on low flame, till the mutton is cooked well and the gravy become thick. If required add little water.
- Once the mutton is cooked well, add thick coconut milk, curry leaves, salt and cook for another 5-8 minutes on low flame.
- Remove from heat and sprinkle chopped coriander leaves.
- Serve warm with palappam, kallappam etc.
