Ingredients:
- Boneless Chicken - 750 Gms, clean and cut into medium pieces
- Onion, medium sized - 3 Nos, finely chopped
- Ginger - 2 inch piece, finely chopped
- Green chilli - 2-3 Nos, finely chopped
- Garlic paste - 2 Tablespoon
- Turmeric powder - ½ Teaspoon
- Red chilli powder - 1 Teaspoon
- Coriander powder - 1 Tablespoon
- Garam masala - 1 Teaspoon
- Bay leaf - 1 Nos
- Green Cardamom - 6 Nos
- Cloves - 3 Nos
- Cinnamon - 1 inch piece
- Black peppercorns - 5 Nos
- Finely chopped Fresh coriander leaves - 2 Tablespoon
- Kasuri methi / Dried fenugreek leaves - 1 ½ - 2 Tablespoon
- Yogurt - 1 cup
- Oil - 2 Tablespoon
- Salt to taste
Instructions:
- Clean and wash the chicken pieces. Drain the water completely and set aside.
- Heat oil in a pan, add in the whole spices( bay leaf, green cardamoms, cloves, cinnamon, peppercorns) and saute till cardamoms start to crackle.
- Then add in the chopped onion and saute until translucent.
- Add chopped ginger, garlic paste, chopped green chillies and saute till the raw smell disappears on low-medium heat.
- Then add in the turmeric powder, red chilli powder, coriander powder and saute for a minute on low heat.
- Now you can add the chicken pieces along with beaten yogurt, cook on high heat for 5-8 minutes.
- Add kasoori methi, 1 cup of water, salt and mix well. Cover and cook for another 10 minutes or till the chicken is tender on low heat. Add more water, if required and continue cooking until done on low-medium heat.
- Now add in the garam masala and mix well, cook till the gravy becomes thick.
- Garnish with chopped coriander leaves and serve hot.
