Ingredients:
- Sardine, medium sized - 5 Nos, approx: 500 Gms
- Turmeric powder - ½ Teaspoon
- Red Chilli powder - ¾ Tablespoon
- Black pepper powder - 1 Tablespoon
- Garlic - 1-2 cloves, crushed
- Lemon Juice - 1 Tablespoon
- Water - 1-2 Tablespoon
- Coconut oil - 3-4 Tablespoon
- Curry leaves - 4-5 leaves
- Salt to taste
Instructions:
- Clean, wash and make some gashes on each side of the fish. Drain the water completely.
- Mix together the pepper powder, turmeric powder, chilli powder, crushed garlic, lemon juice and salt with little water and make a thick paste.
- Marinate the fish pieces with this paste and set aside for 30 minutes. Make sure to apply the paste in the gashes and inside the stomach portion.
- Heat oil in a pan, and spread the oil evenly in the pan. Place the marinated fish pieces in the oil and add the curry leaves.
- Shallow fry the fish for about 6-8 minutes in low-medium heat. Then flip carefully to the other side and fry for about another 5-6 minutes.
- Then transfer to a kitchen paper towel. Serve hot with rice.
