Ingredients:
- Raw mango - 1 Nos, medium sized
- Turmeric powder - ¼ Teaspoon
- Dried red chillies - 2 Nos
- Mustard seeds - ½ Teaspoon
- Coconut oil - 2 Tablespoons
- Curry leaves - 1 Sprig
- Salt to taste
- Grated coconut - 1 cup
- Cumin seeds - ¼ Teaspoon
- Green chillies - 2 Nos
- Garlic - 3-4 cloves
Instructions:
- Wash and chop the mango into medium sized cube pieces.
- Grind the ingredients mentioned in 'For grinding' with little water and make a smooth paste and set aside.
- Cook the chopped mango pieces, salt, turmeric powder with just enough water, till the mangoes become little soft.
- Heat oil in a pan, splutter mustard seeds, then add curry leaves, dried red chillies and saute for few seconds, now add coconut paste and mix well.
- Add the cooked mango along with little water. ( Refer notes )
- Check for salt. Cook on low heat for about 3-4 minutes, don't forget to stir continuously. Remove from heat when the curry is hot.
- Serve with rice.
- Adjust the curry to a medium consistency, by adding water.
- You can also use the same water used for boiling mango, but add little by little and taste the sourness after each addition.
