Ingredients:
- All purpose flour - 2 cup
- Milk - ½ cup
- Yogurt - 3 Tablespoon
- Baking powder - ½ Teaspoon
- Baking soda - ¼ Teaspoon
- Sugar - 2 Teaspoon
- Salt as required( approx ¾ - 1 Teaspoon)
- Vegetable oil - 2 Tablespoon
- Warm water for kneading - if required
- Cumin seeds - as required( approx 1 - 1½ Tablespoon)
- All-purpose flour for dusting
Instructions:
- In a bowl, mix together the all-purpose flour, baking powder, baking soda, sugar and salt.
- Add in the yogurt, oil and mix well.
- Then add in the milk as batches and knead well until you get a smooth and soft dough.
- Cover the dough with a damp cloth and set aside for 2-4 hours.
- Then make small lemon sized balls out of the dough.
- Lightly dust the work surface with all-purpose flour. Flatten each ball into a medium sized kulcha, using a rolling pin. It shouldn't be too thin. Make it as medium thick.
- Now sprinkle some cumin seeds on one side of the kulcha and press it gently using a rolling pin.
- Heat a flat pan, then place the kulcha on the pan. Flip to both sides and cook until both the sides are ¼ cooked.
- Apply some oil or butter on both sides of kulcha and cook till it get some light brown spots on both sides and evenly cooked.
- Serve hot or warm.
