Ingredients:
- All-purpose flour - 1 cup
- Baking soda - ½ Teaspoon
- Powdered Sugar - ½ - ¾ cup, adjust according to your taste
- Butter, melted and cooled - ½ cup
- Cardamom powder - ½ Teaspoon
- Almonds, crushed or sliced for garnishing, optional
Instructions:
- Preheat oven to 350°F.
- In a bowl, mix together the all-purpose flour and baking soda. Set aside.
- In a mixing bowl, mix together the melted butter and powdered sugar to a smooth batter.
- Add in the cardamom powder and mix well.
- Add in the flour-baking soda mixture as 3-4 batches, knead together to form a smooth dough. Set aside for 1 hour.
- After 1 hour, divide the dough into small lemon sized balls and arrange it on cookie tray. Leave enough space between each cookies.
- Slightly flatten each balls, place some sliced almonds(if using) on top and gently press the almonds.
- Bake for about 12-16 minutes or until slightly golden on top.
- Remove from oven and keep it in cookie tray until completely cooled.
Yield: Makes about 12-15 cookies
