Ingredients:
- Chopped Onion( ½ inch square pieces) – 1 Nos, big sized
- Finely chopped Ginger – 1 Tablespoon
- Finely chopped Garlic – 1 ½ Tablespoon
- Chopped Green chilly – 1-2 Nos
- Chopped Spring Onion, white parts - 1 Tablespoon
- Soy sauce – 1 ½ Tablespoon
- Tomato sauce – 2 Tablespoon
- Red chilly sauce – 1 ½ Tablespoon
- Pepper powder – 1 Teaspoon
- Vinegar – 1 Teaspoon
- Sugar – 1 Teaspoon
- Salt to taste
- Oil to deep fry + 1 Tablespoon
For Boiling:
- Cauliflower florets – 2 cups
- Turmeric powder - ¼ Teaspoon
- Salt as required
- Water - 2 cups
For the batter:
- All purpose flour – 3 Tablespoon
- Cornflour – 2 Tablespoon
- Pepper powder – ½ Teaspoon
- Salt to taste
- Water as required
For Garnishing:
- Finely Chopped Coriander leaves - 3 Tablespoon
- Chopped Spring Onion, green parts - 2 Tablespoon
Instructions:
- Boil cauliflower florets with salt, turmeric powder in water for 2-3 minutes and drain the water completely.
- Make a thick batter with the ingredients mentioned in 'For the batter'.
- Heat enough oil to deep fry the cauliflower in a heavy bottomed deep pan.
- Dip each cauliflower florets in batter. Place it in the hot oil and fry until light golden brown on medium heat. Transfer to a paper towel to absorb the excess oil.
- Heat 1 tablespoon of oil in a pan, add the chopped ginger, garlic, green chilly, spring onion whites and onion. Saute till the onion becomes soft.
- Then add soy sauce, tomato sauce, red chilly sauce, pepper powder, vinegar, sugar, salt and mix well.
- Add the fried cauliflower, mix well and make sure that the florets are well coated with the sauces, after that remove from flame.
- Garnish with chopped spring onion greens, coriander leaves and serve hot.
