Ingredients:
- Boneless Chicken – 1 Kg, medium cube sized
- Vegetable oil to fry
For Marination:
- Cornflour – 1 Tablespoon
- Pepper powder - ½ Teaspoon
- Ginger - Garlic Paste - 1 Teaspoon
- Salt - ½ Teaspoon
- Egg - 1 Nos
For Sauce:
- Cumin Seeds - ½ Teaspoon
- Chilli powder - ½ Teaspoon
- Cumin powder - ½ Teaspoon
- Pepper Powder - ½ Teaspoon
- Chopped Garlic - 1 Tablespoon
- Chopped Ginger - 1 Teaspoon
- Chopped Green Chillies - 1-2 Tablespoon
- 'Dried Kashmiri red chillies-Ginger-Garlic' paste - See Notes
- Curry Leaves - 1-2 sprig
- Chopped Coriander leaves - 1-2 Tablespoon
- Red Food colour - 2-3 drops, optional
- Vegetable oil - 1 Tablespoon
- Water - ¼ cup
- Salt to taste
Instructions:
Initial Preparation:
- Marinate chicken pieces with the ingredients listed in 'For marination' and set aside for 15 minutes.
- Heat oil in a frying pan, add in the marinated chicken pieces, fry until lightly golden brown. Transfer to a paper towel.
Chicken-65 Preparation:
- Heat 1 tablespoon of oil in a wide pan, add cumin seeds and fry for few seconds.
- Add in the chopped ginger, garlic and saute until the raw smell disappears.
- Add in the chopped green chillies, 'Dried kashmiri red chillies- Ginger-Garlic paste', curry leaves and saute for 1-2 minutes on low heat.
- Add pepper powder, chilli powder, cumin powder, salt, red colour mentioned in 'For Sauce' and saute for 1-2 minutes on low heat.
- Add ¼ cup of water and mix well, then add in the fried chicken pieces and combine well. Saute until the water content evaporates completely.
- Remove from heat, add in the chopped coriander leaves, give a quick mix, serve hot :)
Notes:
For 'Dried Kashmiri red chillies-Ginger-Garlic' paste:
- Grind together 2-3 dried kashmiri red chillies, ½ teaspoon of ginger-garlic paste with 2 tablespoons of water.
