Ingredients:
- Capsicum - 2 medium, chopped
- Chopped Onion - ½ cup
- Curry leaves - 1 sprig
- Turmeric powder - ¼ Teaspoon
- Mustard seeds - ½ Teaspoon
- Dried Red Chillies - 2 Nos
- Black Pepper powder - ½ Teaspoon
- Vegetable oil - 1 Tablespoon
- Salt to taste
For Coconut Masala:
- Grated coconut - ¼ cup
- Garlic - 1-2 medium cloves
- Green chillies - 1 small, chopped
- Cumin Seeds - ¼ Teaspoon
- Turmeric powder - ¼ Teaspoon
- Salt - ½ Teaspoon
Instructions:
- Coarsely grind together the ingredients mentioned in 'For coconut Masala' without adding water. Set aside.
- Heat oil in a pan, splutter mustard seeds. Then add in the dried red chilies and fry for 30 seconds.
- Add in the chopped onion and curry leaves. Saute for 1 minute on medium heat.
- Now add in the chopped capsicum, turmeric powder, salt and mix well.
- Cook until the capsicum is half cooked on medium heat, then add in the prepared coconut masala and mix well.
- Cook until the thoran is dry enough to serve. Stir occasionally.
- Once the water content evaporates completely, add in the pepper powder and mix well. Remove from heat and serve hot.
