Ingredients:
For Blueberry Syrup:
- Fully ripe Blueberries – 1 cup
- Lime juice – 4-6 Tablespoon, freshly squeezed
- Sugar – ½ - 1 cup
- Water – 1 cup
For Serving:
- Ice cubes
- Lemon wedges or Blueberries or Mint Leaves
- Cold water or chilled club soda as required
Instructions:
Blueberry Syrup Preparation:
- Clean and wash the blueberries and set aside.
- Heat water in a sauce pan, add in the sugar and blueberries.
- Gently pound the berries using a muddler or the back of a spoon.
- Cook the mixture until the sugar is dissolved completely and the syrup is slightly thicken on medium heat. Stir occasionally.
- Remove from heat and strain the syrup through a mesh-sieve. Press down the mixture using the back of a spoon to extract maximum syrup.
- Add in the lime juice and combine well. Allow to cool completely and then refrigerate until chilled.
Serving Instructions:
- Add ice cubes in the serving glasses. Fill little more than ⅓ part of the glass with the blueberry syrup.
- Slowly pour the cold water or club soda into the glasses till it almost reaches the brim.
- Garnish with fresh lime wedges or blueberries or mint leaves. Serve immediately.
Notes:
- You can use fresh or frozen blueberries. I used fresh blueberries.
- Adjust the quantity of lime juice according to the tanginess.
- Adjust the quantity of sugar according to your taste. I used ¾ cup sugar.
