Ingredients:
- Beef - 1 Kg, cut into small pieces
- Onion (Sawala) - 500 Gms(4 large), sliced
- Ginger - 2 large pieces, finely chopped
- Garlic - 10-15 cloves, finely chopped
- Green chilli - 4 Nos, Sliced
- Coconut slices - 50 Gms
- Chilli powder - 1 ½ Table spoon
- Coriander Powder - 3 Table spoon
- Turmeric powder - ¾ Table spoon
- Garam masala - 1 Table spoon
- Mustard seeds - 1 Teaspoon
- Curry leaves - 2 sprig
- Large Tomato - 1Nos, sliced
- Coconut Oil - 3 Tablespoon
- Salt to taste
- Water as required
Instructions:
- Clean and wash beef pieces; Drain completely and set aside.
- Heat coconut oil in a pan, splutter mustard seeds; Now add the coconut slices and fry till light brown.
- Add the chopped onions, ginger, garlic, green chilli, curry leaves and saute till the onions are light brown in color.
- Now add the sliced tomato and saute till the tomato pieces are mashed well.
- Add chilli powder, turmeric powder, coriander powder, garam masala and fry for about 1-2 minutes on low flame; Then add the beef and combine well.
- Then put the whole mix in a pressure cooker with sufficient amount of water and cook till 3-4 whistles or the beef is cooked well; Make sure that the water level should be lesser than the beef mix.
- Switch off the flame and keep the pressure cooker closed for 5-10 minutes; Then open the lid and cook till the gravy is thick.
- Serve hot.
