Ingredients:
- Ayala, Indian Mackerel - 500 Gms, cut into medium size pieces and cleaned
- Raw mango - 1 small, cut into medium pieces
- Tomato - 1 Nos, sliced
- Green chilli - 2 Nos, slit
- Curry leaves - 1 sprig
- Coconut oil - 2-3 Tablespoon
- Water as required
- Salt to taste
For Coconut Masala:
- Grated Coconut - 1 ½ Cup
- Red pearl onions- 4-5 Nos
- Turmeric powder - ½ Teaspoon
- Coriander powder - 1 Tablespoon
- Red chilli powder - ½ Tablespoon
Instructions:
- Grind together the ingredients mentioned in 'For Coconut masala' along with little water and make a fine paste. Set aside.
- In a deep pan or clay pot, add in the fish pieces, mango pieces, coconut masala paste, green chillies, curry leaves, enough water and salt. Mix well and let it boil on medium heat.
- Once the curry starts boiling, add in the sliced tomatoes and cook until the fish pieces are cooked well and the gravy thickens.
- At this point, add one tablespoon of coconut oil and remove from heat.
- Serve hot with rice.
